Repair Procedures: Removal
- Turn OFF ignition switch and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
- Set shift lever to N position.
- Remove the air cleaner assembly. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "AIR CLEANER ")
- Remove the battery and battery tray. (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "BATTERY ")
- Remove the engine control module (ECM). (Refer to Engine Control System - "ECM ")
- Disconnect the back up lamp switch connector (A) and the neutral position switch (B).
- Separate the control cable from the control shaft complete after removing the pin (A).
- Remove the control shaft complete (A).
Tightening torque:
9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)
NOTE: Removal is possible only on "N" position.
