Bleeding Brake System

  1. Carefully monitor brake fluid level at master cylinder during bleeding operation. Fill reservoir with DOT 3 brake fluid. Ensure reservoir is full at all times while bleeding air out of system.
  2. Connect a transparent vinyl tube to air bleeder valve. Fully depress brake pedal several times. With brake pedal depressed, open air bleeder valve to release air. Close air bleeder valve and release brake pedal slowly. Repeat procedure until clear brake fluid comes out of air bleeder valve. See BRAKE LINE BLEEDING SEQUENCE table.
BRAKE LINE BLEEDING SEQUENCE

Application Sequence
Q45 (1) LR, RR, LF, RF, Front ABS Actuator & Rear ABS Actuator
(1) Bleed brakes in sequence, then bleed ABS actuators.
CAUTION: Always use new DOT 3 brake fluid. Use care not to damage battery cable and TCS hose during air bleeding. After bleeding air from TCS, oil level in reservoir tank will be slightly lower. Do not add additional oil, as leakage from reservoir tank may occur.
