Bleeding Brake & TCS Systems: Notes

  1. Carefully monitor brake fluid level at master cylinder during bleeding operation. Fill reservoir with DOT 3 brake fluid. Ensure reservoir is full at all times while bleeding air out of system. Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Bleed brakes in sequence: right rear, left rear, right front and left front.
  2. Connect a transparent vinyl tube to air bleeder valve. Fully depress brake pedal several times. With brake pedal depressed, open bleeder valve to release air. Close bleeder valve. Release brake pedal slowly. Repeat procedure until clear brake fluid comes out of bleeder valve.
CAUTION: Always use new DOT 3 brake fluid. Use care not to damage battery cable and TCS hose during air bleeding. After bleeding air from TCS, fluid level in reservoir tank will be slightly lower. Do not add additional fluid, as leakage from reservoir tank may occur.
