Fuel Pump Control System
- Unplug fuel pump relay. See Fig 1
. Turn ignition on. Check for battery voltage between ground and fuel pump relay connector terminal No. 2 (Light Green wire) and terminal No. 3 (Red/Green wire).
- If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check wiring connectors, 7.5-amp fuse No. 30 in interior fuse box.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect fuel pump harness connector. Check continuity of Yellow/Black wire between fuel pump relay and fuel pump. Check continuity of Black/Red wire between fuel pump relay and ECM connector terminal No. 11.
- Repair wiring as necessary. If no faults are found in wiring, check fuel pump. If fuel pump is okay, test fuel pump relay. See RELAYS under RELAYS & SOLENOIDS. Also inspect ECM connector pin terminals for damage or corrosion.
