Detonation (Knock) Retard

Check knock sensor wire for open or short to ground. Check knock sensor shield ground wire for continuity to ground. Check routing of knock sensor wire. Wire should not be routed close to spark plug wires or high output accessories.

Faults in knock sensor (detonation retard) circuit may set Code 34 or DTC P0325. To test system, refer to DTC PO340: CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR in appropriate TESTS W/CODES article.
