Throttle Position (TP) Sensor: Notes

  1. Ensure engine is warmed to normal operating temperature. Disconnect throttle position sensor harness connector. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . On I30, check resistance between connector terminals No. 2 and 3. On Q45, check resistance between connector terminals No. 1 and 2.
  2. On all models, if continuity is not correct, slightly loosen TP sensor mounting bolts. Rotate sensor body until resistance is correct. Tighten mounting bolts, and recheck resistance reading. If resistance is not as specified, replace TP sensor.
