Dome Light Function Check

  1. Check for correct dome light operation. Turn interior light switch to DOOR position, open any door and observe dome light. If dome light operates correctly, go to next step. If dome light does not operate correctly, see appropriate wiring diagram in ILLUMINATION/INTERIOR LIGHTS article.
  2. With interior light switch in DOOR position, measure voltage by backprobing between SECU 18-pin connector terminal No. 8 (Red/Blue wire) and ground. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, inspect Red/Blue or Gray/Red wire between SECU and interior light switch for open or short.
  3. Measure voltage between SECU terminal No. 8 and ground. Battery voltage should be present. Depress UNLOCK button on remote control. Battery voltage should not be present for about 30 seconds. If voltage is as specified, retest system. If voltage is not as specified, replace SECU.
