DTC P0110: Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor: Procedure

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect IAT sensor harness connector. See Fig 1. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between IAT sensor harness connector Yellow/Blue wire and ground. If voltage is about 5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not about 5 volts, repair open or short in Yellow/Blue wire between ECM and IAT sensor.
  2. Turn ignition off. Check continuity between IAT sensor harness connector Black wire and ground. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Black wire. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
  3. Leave IAT sensor disconnected. Measure resistance between IAT sensor terminals. Resistance should decrease as temperature increases. See Fig 2. If resistance is not as specified, replace IAT sensor. If resistance is as specified, no problem is currently indicated. Problem may be intermittent. See TESTING PROCEDURE under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - INTRODUCTION article.
