DTC Confirmation Test

Malfunction is detected when ECM does not receive signal from ignition primary circuit. Depending on equipment available, use one of the following to set DTC:

• Using Scan Tool
  
  Start engine. If engine will not start, crank engine for at least 5 seconds. Select MODE 7 on scan tool.
• Using MIL
  
  Start engine. If engine will not start, crank engine for at least 5 seconds. Turn ignition off and wait at least 5 seconds. Turn ignition on and retrieve DTCs using MIL. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - INTRODUCTION article.
