DTC P0500: Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS): Procedure
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM harness connector. See Figure. Remove instrument cluster and disconnect Brown 16-pin harness connector. Check continuity of Pink/Blue wire between instrument cluster harness connector terminal No. 18 and ECM harness connector terminal No. 68. See Figure and Fig 1
. Also, check circuit for short to ground and short to voltage. Repair circuit as necessary and retest system. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Reconnect all harness connectors. Check speedometer operation. If speedometer operates, go to next step. If speedometer does not operate, repair VSS or circuit. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
- No problem is indicated at this time. Problem may be intermittent. See INTERMITTENTS in TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
