Trunk Release Solenoid Check

- CHECK TRUNK LID OPENER
Check trunk release operation with trunk lid opener switch.
NOTE: First check trunk lid opener cancel switch position. Refer to "TRUNK LID OPENER ".Does trunk lid open?
- Yes: GO TO 2.
- No: Check trunk release solenoid and the circuit.
- CHECK TRUNK LID OPENER ACTUATOR OPERATION
With CONSULT-II
- Select "ACTIVE TEST" in "MULTI REMOTE ENT" with CONSULT-II.
- Select "TRUNK/BACK DOOR" and touch "ON".
Trunk release solenoid should operate.
NOTE: If CONSULT-II is not available, skip this procedure and go to the next step.
OK or NG?
- OK: Trunk lid opener actuator circuit is OK.
- NG: Check harness for open or short between BCM and trunk lid opener actuator.
- CHECK TRUNK LID OPENER ACTUATOR CIRCUIT
Without CONSULT-II
- Disconnect trunk lamp switch and trunk release solenoid connector.
- Check voltage between trunk lamp switch and trunk release solenoid harness connector B32 terminal 3 (P) and ground.
3 (P) - Ground : Battery voltage should exist.
- Check continuity between trunk lamp switch and trunk release solenoid harness connector B32 terminal 4 (B) and ground.
4 (B) - Ground : Continuity should exist.
OK or NG?
- OK: Replace trunk release solenoid.
- No: Check the following.
- Harness for open or short between BCM and trunk release solenoid
- Harness for open or short between trunk lamp switch and trunk release solenoid and ground
- Replace BCM
