Test E: Abs Works Frequently
- Check wheel sensors and circuits. See DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE NO. 1 under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. If a problem is found, repair as necessary. If wheel sensors and circuits are okay, go to next step.
- Check wheel bearings for excessive play. See FRONT article in SUSPENSION. If a problem is found, adjust or repair as necessary. If wheel bearings are okay, road test vehicle and observe ABS warning light. If warning light stays off, go to next step. If warning light is on, perform self-diagnostics. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM .
- Disconnect ABS/TCS control unit 31 pin harness connector. See Figure . Inspect ABS/TCS control unit pins for damage. Inspect harness connector terminals for loose connections or damage. Reconnect ABS/TCS control unit 31 pin harness connector and retest system.
