Test J: TCS Off Switch Inoperative

  1. Remove TCS OFF switch from dash and disconnect switch harness connector. Check continuity between TCS OFF switch terminals No. 2 and 3. See Fig 1 . Depress switch, continuity should exist. Release switch. Continuity should not exist. If continuity is as specified, go to next step. If continuity is not as specified, replace TCS OFF switch.
  2. Disconnect ABS/TCS control unit 31 pin harness connector. See Figure . Check continuity of Light Blue wire between TCS OFF switch harness connector terminal No. 2 and ABS/TCS control unit 31 pin harness connector terminal No. 31. Also check circuit for short to ground and short to voltage. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If problem is found, repair as necessary and retest system to confirm problem was fixed or no longer exist. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
  3. Check continuity between ground and TCS OFF switch harness connector terminal No. 3 (Black wire). See Fig 1 . If continuity exists, system is okay. If continuity does not exist, repair open in ground circuit.
