Key Switch Check

With CONSULT-II

• Check ignition key cylinder switch "IGN KEY SW" in "DATA MONITOR" mode with CONSULT-II. When key is inserted in ignition key cylinder:

IGN KEY SW ON 

When key is removed from ignition key cylinder:

IGN KEY SW OFF 

With out CONSULT-II

1. Disconnect BCM connector.
2. Check voltage between harness connector M4 terminals 69 (PU/W) and body ground.

OK or NG? 

1. OK >> Key switch is OK.
2. NG >> GO TO 2.

1. Remove the key from the ignition key cylinder.
2. Disconnect key switch connector.
3. Check continuity BCM harness connector M4 terminal 69 (PU/W) and key switch harness connector M64 terminal 4 (PU/W).

   : Continuity should exist. 

OK or NG? 

1. OK >> GO TO 3.
2. NG >> Repair or replace harness.

1. Check continuity between key switch terminals 3 and 4.

OK or NG? 

1. OK >> Check harness for open or short between key switch and fuse.
2. NG >> Replace key switch.
