DTC Confirmation Test (Using Generic Scan Tool)
NOTE:
Use this procedure to check overall monitoring function of EVAP control system purge flow monitoring. During this check, a DTC might not be confirmed.
- Lift up drive wheels.
- Start engine (VDC switch off) and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
- Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds.
- Start engine and wait at least 70 seconds.
- Set voltmeter probes to ECM terminal No. 32 (EVAP control system pressure sensor signal) and ground. Check EVAP control system pressure sensor value at idle speed and note it.
- Turn air conditioner switch, headlamp switch and rear window defogger switch on. Place selector lever in any drive position and run engine speed up to about 3000 RPM for at least one minute.
- Verify that EVAP control system pressure sensor value stays at .1 volt less than value at idle speed for at least one second. If not to specification, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If system meets specification, it is okay at this time.
