Component Inspection

CAUTION: Always calibrate vacuum pump gauge when using it. Do not apply below -27.56 in. Hg (-93.3 kPa) or pressure over 29.92 in. Hg (101.3 kPa).
  1. Remove EVAP control system pressure sensor with harness connector connected.
  2. Remove EVAP control system pressure sensor from EVAP canister.
  3. Install a vacuum pump to EVAP control system pressure sensor.
  4. Turn ignition switch on and check output voltage between ECM terminal No. 32 and ground under following conditions:
    • With no vacuum applied, voltage should be from 1.8-4.8 volts.
    • With vacuum of -7.87 in. Hg (-26.7 mm Hg), voltage should be 2.1 to 2.5 volts less than value measured with no vacuum applied.
  5. If not to specification, replace EVAP control system pressure sensor.
