Repair For Component Parts: Disassembly: Assembly

    CAUTION: Apply ATF to 3rd one-way clutch.

  1. Install 3rd one-way clutch in front sun gear.
  2. Using a flat-bladed screwdriver, install snap ring in front sun gear.

  3. Check operation of 3rd one-way clutch.
    1. Hold oil pump assembly and turn front sun gear.
      2. CAUTION: If not as shown in illustration, check installation direction of 3rd one-way clutch.
    2. Check 3rd one-way clutch for correct locking and unlocking directions.

  1. Install input clutch.
    1. Install drive plate, driven plate and retaining plate in input clutch drum.
    2. Using a flat-bladed screwdriver, install snap ring in input clutch drum.

      3. CAUTION: Apply petroleum jelly to needle bearing.

    3. Install needle bearing in input clutch assembly.
      4. CAUTION:
      • Do not reuse O-ring and seal rings.
      • Apply ATF to O-ring.
      • Apply petroleum jelly to seal rings.
    4. Install O-ring and seal rings in input clutch assembly.
  2. Install input clutch assembly in rear internal gear.

  3. Install front carrier assembly.
    1. Install snap ring in front carrier.

      2. CAUTION: Apply petroleum jelly to needle bearing.

    2. Install needle bearing in front carrier.
      3. CAUTION: Apply petroleum jelly to bearing race.

    3. Install bearing race in front carrier.
    4. Install front carrier assembly in input clutch and rear internal gear.
