Control Valve Assembly: Installation

  1. Install fluid temperature sensor 2 in bracket.

  2. Install fluid temperature sensor 2 in control valve assembly. (With bracket.)
    1. : 6.9 - 8.8 N.m (0.71 - 0.89 kg-m, 61 - 77 in-lb)

  3. Install control valve assembly.
    1. Install control valve assembly in transmission case.

      CAUTION:
      • Hang down terminal cord assembly and revolution sensor harness toward outside so as not to disturb installation of control valve assembly.
      • Make sure that turbine sensor securely installs turbine sensor hole.
      • Assemble it so that manual valve cutout is engaged with manual plate projection.

  4. Install bolts A, B and C in control valve assembly.

  5. Tighten bolt 1, 2 and 3 temporarily to prevent dislocation. After that tighten them in order (1 --> 2 --> 3), and then tighten other bolts.
    1. : 6.9 - 8.8 N.m (0.71 - 0.89 kg-m, 61 - 77 in-lb)

  6. Install terminal cord assembly connectors in bracket.

  7. Connect terminal cord assembly connectors.

  8. Connect fluid temperature sensor 2 connector.

  9. Connect revolution sensor connector.

  10. Securely fasten terminal harness with clip.

  11. Install oil pan in transmission case.
    1. Install oil pan gasket in transmission case.
      CAUTION:
      • Do not reuse oil pan gasket.
      • Install it in the direction to align hole positions.
    2. Install oil pan in transmission case.
      CAUTION:
      • Install it so that drain plug comes to the position as shown in the figure.
      • Be careful not to pinch harnesses.

    3. Tighten oil pan mounting bolts to the specified torque in numerical order shown in the figure after temporarily tightening them.
      CAUTION: Do not reuse oil pan mounting bolts.
      1. : 6.9 - 8.8 N.m (0.71 - 0.89 kg-m, 61 - 77 in-lb) 
  12. Install drain plug in oil pan.
    CAUTION: Do not reuse drain plug gasket.
    1. : 29 - 39 N.m (3.0 - 4.0 kg-m, 22 - 29 ft-lb)

  13. Pour ATF into transmission assembly.
  14. Connect heated oxygen sensor 2 harness connector.
  15. Connect the negative battery terminal
