DTC Confirmation Test (Using CONSULT-II)

NOTE: If DTC confirmation procedure had been previously run, turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds before continuing.
NOTE: DTC confirmation may be conducted while test driving vehicle or with wheel lifted off of ground.
  1. Start engine. Read VHCL SPEED SE in DATA MONITOR mode with CONSULT-II. VHCL SPEED SE should be able to exceed 6 MPH when drive wheels are rotating at 6 MPH or more. If operation is as specified, go to next step. If operation is not as specified, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
  2. Select DATA MONITOR mode with CONSULT-II. Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Maintain following conditions for at least 10 consecutive seconds:
    • ENG SPEED: more then 1800 RPM (A/T) or 2000 RPM (M/T)
    • COOLAN TEMP/S: more than 158°F (70°C)
    • B/FUEL SCHDL: 5.5-31.9 msec
    • PW/ST SIGNAL: OFF
  3. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
