DTC Confirmation Test
NOTE:
If target idle speed is not 625-725 RPM (A/T) or 575-675 RPM (M/T), perform idle air volume learning before proceeding. See IDLE AIR VOLUME LEARNING under PROGRAMMING.
NOTE:
Before proceeding, ensure battery voltage is more than 11 volts with ignition on. If DTC confirmation procedure had been previously run, turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds before continuing.
- Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds. Turn ignition on. Perform idle air volume learning, see IDLE AIR VOLUME LEARNING under PROGRAMMING.
- Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds. Turn ignition on. Select DATA MONITOR mode with CONSULT-II.
- Start engine let it idle for at least one minute. Raise engine speed to 2500 RPM for 3 seconds, then allow to idle for 3 seconds.
- Turn ignition off and wait at least 10 seconds. Turn ignition on. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If 1st trip DTC is not detected, system is okay at this time.
NOTE:
Do not allow engine speed to run at more than 3000 RPM during this step.
