With CONSULT-II
- Turn ignition on, and wait for one second. Turn ignition off, and wait for at least 10 seconds. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature.
- Ensure all conditions under PRE-CONDITIONING are met. Turn ignition off, and wait for at least 10 seconds. Start engine and allow to idle for at least 30 seconds.
- Select IDLE AIR VOL LEARN in WORK SUPPORT mode with CONSULT-II. Press START and wait 20 seconds.
- Ensure CMPLT is displayed. If CMPLT is displayed, go to step 6. If INCP is displayed, Idle Air Volume Learning will not be carried out successfully. If INCMP is displayed, go to next step.
- If Idle Air Volume Learning cannot be performed successfully, check following:
- Ensure throttle valve is fully closed.
- Check PCV valve operation.
- Ensure no vacuum leaks exist.
- Adjust closed throttle position switch and reset memory. See THROTTLE POSITION SWITCH, IGNITION TIMING & IDLE SPEED

- If all of the above items check okay, engine components and installation are suspect. Perform appropriate BASIC INSPECTION procedure in ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS
article.
- If after engine starts any of following occurs: engine stalls, idle speed fluctuates or has blown fuses related to IACC system, repair as necessary. After repair, repeat Idle Air Volume Learning procedure.

- Quickly increase engine speed 2 or 3 times. Ensure that idle speed and ignition timing are within specifications. See THROTTLE POSITION SWITCH, IGNITION TIMING & IDLE SPEED
