Diagnosis Procedure

  1. CHECK GROUND CONNECTION
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Check ground connection M95. Refer to Ground Inspection in "CIRCUIT INSPECTION ".

      Is the inspection result normal? 

      YES: GO TO 2.

      NO: Repair or replace ground connection.

  2. CHECK ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION (APP) SENSOR 1 POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
    1. Disconnect APP sensor harness connector.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.
    3. Check the voltage between APP sensor harness connector and ground.
      APP sensor Ground Voltage (V)
      Connector Terminal
      E112 (Without ICC) 5 Ground Approx. 5
      E116 (With ICC)

      Is the inspection result normal? 

      YES: GO TO  7.

      NO: GO TO 3.

  3. CHECK SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUITS

    Check harness for short to power and short to ground, between the following terminals:

    ECM Sensor
    Connector Terminal Name Connector Terminal
    F101 43 Electric throttle control actuator (bank 2) F27 1
    44 Electric throttle control actuator (bank 1) F6 6
    F102 60 Camshaft position (CMP) sensor (bank 1) F5 1
    Exhaust valve timing (EVT) control position sensor (bank 1) F4 1
    Power steering pressure (PSP) sensor F35 3
    M107 99 APP sensor E112 (Without ICC) 5
    E116 (With ICC)

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    YES: GO TO 4.

    NO: Repair short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.

  4. CHECK COMPONENTS

    Check the Following:

  5. CHECK THROTTLE POSITION (TP) SENSOR

    Refer to "COMPONENT INSPECTION ".

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    YES: GO TO  9.

    NO: GO TO 6.

  6. REPLACE ELECTRIC THROTTLE CONTROL ACTUATOR

    Replace electric throttle control actuator. Refer to "EXPLODED VIEW ".

    : INSPECTION END

  7. CHECK APP SENSOR

    Refer to "COMPONENT INSPECTION ".

    Is the inspection result normal? 

    YES: GO TO  9.

    NO: GO TO 8.

  8. REPLACE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY

    Replace accelerator pedal assembly. Refer to "MODELS WITHOUT DISTANCE CONTROL ASSIST SYSTEM: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION " (without distance control assist) or "MODELS WITH DISTANCE CONTROL ASSIST SYSTEM: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION " (without distance control assist).

    : INSPECTION END

  9. CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT

    Perform "INTERMITTENT INCIDENT ".

    : INSPECTION END
