Removal And Installation: Removal

Remove engine under cover. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Set the front wheels to straight-ahead position and fix steering wheel at center position.
Disconnect EPS control unit harness connectors .

CAUTION:
Observe routing of EPS control unit harness.
Remove heat insulator to aside. Refer to EXPLODED VIEW WITH TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Remove EPS control unit mounting bolts .

Remove EPS control unit and sealing ring from steering gear assembly .

CAUTION:
- Use lint-free rag to protect steering gear assembly and EPS control unit against dirt.
- Soiling on the inside will result in destruction of the steering gear assembly or the EPS control unit.
Remove sealing ring from EPS control unit .

Remove damper coupling from EPS control unit .

Perform inspection after removal. Refer to INSPECTION AND ADJUSTMENT .
