Work Procedure (After Replacing ECM)

CAUTION: Be sure to perform the procedure in numerical order. Incorrect order causes ECM malfunction.
  1. CHECK ??OPERATION LOG' 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    Check Operation Log saved before replacing ECM, according to the procedure of "Programming" in CONSULT Operation Manual.

    NOTE:
    • Log in to the network, according to the CONSULT screen.
    • For the vehicle that the programming is to be performed, check if Operation Log of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is in Saved Data List.

    Is there an applicable Operation Log in the Saved Data List?

    YES

    GO TO 2.

    NO

    GO TO 3.

  2. PERFORM ECM PROGRAMMING 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    Perform ECM programming, according to "Programming" of CONSULT Operation Manual. Refer to CONSULT Operation Manual.

    CAUTION: During programming, maintain the following conditions:
    • Ignition switch: ON
    • Electric load: OFF
    • Brake pedal: Not depressed
    • Battery voltage: 12 - 13.5 V (Check the value displayed on the CONSULT screen.)
    NOTE: Log in to the network, according to the CONSULT screen.

    GO TO 5.

  3. READ IN ECM PART NUMBER BY ??FAST LINKED' 

    Obtain ECM part number by NISSAN PARTS CATALOGUE GLOBAL Web-FAST, according to the procedure of ??FAST linked' in CONSULT Operation Manual. Refer to CONSULT Operation Manual.

    NOTE: ??FAST linked' allows an appropriate programming by obtaining ECU part number from NISSAN PARTS CATALOGUE GLOBAL Web-FAST even when the part number cannot be obtained from the old ECU used before replacing with a new one.

    GO TO 4.

  4. PERFORM PROGRAMMING (FAST LINKED) 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    Perform ECM programming according to the procedure of FAST linked in CONSULT Operation Manual. Refer to CONSULT Operation Manual.

    CAUTION: During programming, maintain the following conditions:
    • Ignition switch: ON
    • Electric load: OFF
    • Brake pedal: Not depressed
    • Battery voltage: 12 - 13.5 V (Check the value displayed on the CONSULT screen.)
    NOTE: Log in to the network, according to the CONSULT screen.

    GO TO 5.

  5. PERFORM CONFIGURATION (WRITING VEHICLE SPECIFICATION) 
    CAUTION: Be sure to perform configuration before VIN REGISTRATION (step 7). Incorrect order causes ECM malfunction.

    Perform configuration. Refer to Description .

    NOTE: Log in to the network, according to the CONSULT screen.

    GO TO 6.

  6. PERFORM ACTIVATION OF FUEL PUMP 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    Perform Activation of Fuel Pump. Refer to Description .

    GO TO 7.

  7. PERFORM VIN REGISTRATION 
    CAUTION: Be sure to perform this step AFTER performing the step 5, PERFORM CONFIGURATION (WRITING VEHICLE SPECIFICATION).

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    Perform VIN Registration. Refer to Description .

    GO TO 8.

  8. PERFORM ECU REGISTRATION 
    CAUTION: Be sure to perform this step AFTER performing the step 7, PERFORM VIN REGISTRATION.

    NOTE: For details, refer to CONSULT Operation Manual.
    1. Select "Immobilizer".
    2. Touch "One of ECU to be replaced" and "ECM replacement (New)" to perform ECU registration.

    GO TO 9.

  9. PERFORM INJECTOR INJECTION QUANTITY ADJUSTMENT VALUE REGISTRATION 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    Perform INJECTOR INJECTION QUANTITY ADJUSTMENT. Refer to Description .

    GO TO 10.

  10. PERFORM TEACH IN OF THROTTLE VALVE STOP 

    SYMBOL With CONSULT

    1. Select "ENGINE" >> "WORK SUPPORT" >> "TEACH IN OF THROTTLE VALVE STOP". Refer to Description .
    2. Follow the instruction of CONSULT display.

    GO TO 11.

  11. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 30 seconds.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.
    3. Check DTC. If DTC is displayed, erase it.
