Test 2: O2 Sensor (Codes 13, 44 And 45)

  1. Disconnect MCU control terminals at MCU. Disconnect oxygen sensor at connector. Check for continuity and grounds between terminal 30 and oxygen sensor connector. If circuits are good, go to step  2 .
    CAUTION: A voltmeter with internal resistance of at least 20,000 ohms must be used to check the oxygen sensor. Damage to the oxygen sensor may result if any other test meter is used.
  2. Connect a test wire to the oxygen sensor terminal, and reconnect sensor terminal to I-TEC wiring. Connect the positive lead of the tester to the test wire and the negative lead to ground. Start engine, and check for voltage variations between 0 and .8 volts when engine speed is momentarily increased. Replace oxygen sensor if no voltage variation is noted.
