I-TEC Control System: Description

The I-TEC control system constantly monitors and controls engine operation. This lowers emissions while maintaining fuel economy and driveability. The Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls the fuel injection system, ignition system, and turbocharger control system (if used).

The fuel injection system consists of the crank angle sensor, throttle valve switch, vehicle speed sensor, coolant temperature sensor, airflow sensor, oxygen sensor, 4 fuel injectors, and ECU.

The ignition system consists of the crank angle sensor, throttle valve switch, vehicle speed sensor, coolant temperature sensor, airflow sensor, knock sensor, a transistorized ignition coil, and ECU.

The turbocharger control system consists of the throttle valve switch, throttle position sensor, knock sensor, coolant temperature sensor, airflow sensor, oxygen sensor, stepping motor, turbocharger controller, and ECU.
