BACKPRESSURE Transducer

This unit responds to exhaust pressure. Under heavy throttle application (heavy exhaust pressure), backpressure transducer closes vacuum passage to EGR valve and regulates EGR action.

Under normal operating conditions, EGR valve functions normally since backpressure transducer allows vacuum passage to atmosphere.
