Mixture Control (Duty) Solenoid Circuit

  1. Connect a jumper wire between 2 outside terminals of ALDL connector. Turn ignition to on. Engine off. Ensure mixture control solenoid clicks.
  2. If solenoid does not click repeatedly, check wiring to solenoid. If wiring is okay, replace solenoid. If solenoid clicks repeatedly, check carburetor. For further testing, see Code 54 under appropriate TESTS W/CODES - CARBURETED article in this section.
