Coolant Temperature Sensor Test
- Unplug coolant temperature sensor. On Amigo, Pickup and Trooper (2.6L), sensor is located on right side of engine, below intake manifold. Sensor connector contains a Black and Green/Yellow wires.
- On Impulse, sensor is located on left side of engine, in coolant outlet. On Trooper (2.8L), sensor is located on front of intake manifold, near throttle body.
- On all models, check resistance between sensor terminals at specified temperature. See COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR SPECIFICATIONS table. Replace sensor if not within specification.
NOTE:
Coolant temperature sensor malfunctions may also set trouble Codes 14 and 15. For additional testing information, see appropriate TESTS W/CODES
article.
