Clearing Codes

CAUTION: Ensure ignition is off when disconnecting or reconnecting power supply to ECM.
  1. After repairs are performed, clear ECM memory of all stored trouble codes. To clear memory, turn ignition off. Remove ECM MAIN relay (located in relay center under hood near battery) for at least 30 seconds.
  2. After clearing trouble codes, confirm system will operate in closed loop mode and ensure CHECK ENGINE light functions properly.
  3. Trouble codes can also be cleared by disconnecting vehicle battery. However, other memory functions (clock, radio, etc.), will require resetting.
