(1) Fuel filter should be replaced when fuel pressure drops below specification with fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose disconnected and pinched. See REGULATED FUEL PRESSURE  under FUEL SYSTEM. Ensure fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator are okay.
(2) Inspect water pump.
BELT ADJUSTMENT

New Belt (2) 3/16-9/32 (5.0-7.0)
Used Belt (3) 5/16-7/16 (8.0-11.0)
A/C Compressor (4)
Power Steering
New Belt (2) 7/16-1/2 (11.0-13.0)
Used Belt (3) 1/2-5/8 (13.0-16.0)
(1) With 22 lbs. (10 kg) pressure applied midway on longest belt run.
(2) Install new belt to new specification. Run for 5 min. and readjust to used belt specification.
(3) Specification is for a used belt. Belt is considered used when it has been run for 5 min. or more.
(4) Generator and A/C compressor use a common drive belt.
