Trouble Shooting: Notes
NOTE:
To verify ABS operation (normal or faulty), perform ABS self-check. See ANTI-LOCK SYSTEM SELF-CHECK under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) is capable of storing Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) when a system malfunction is detected. During a malfunction, ABS warning light may flash or remain illuminated. On Passport, Rodeo and Trooper, DTCs can be retrieved by observing ABS warning light, or by using scan tool. On Hombre, a scan tool must be used to retrieve DTCs. See SELF-DIAGNOSTICS. If a DTC is not present, but a malfunction is evident, trouble shooting may be performed by symptom. See SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS .
