Front Passenger Window Inoperative: Trooper

  1. Ensure ground connection B-2 is secure. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Repair if necessary. If ground connection is okay, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect passenger's front power window and lock switch. Use DVOM to check for continuity between ground and passenger's front power window and lock switch connector terminal No. 7 (Black wire). If continuity is indicated, go to step  4. If continuity is not indicated, go to next step.
  3. Repair open in Black wire between ground connection B-2 and passenger's front power window and lock switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repairs, repeat step  2.
  4. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between ground and passenger's front power window and lock switch connector terminal No. 5 (Blue/Black wire). If battery voltage is indicated, go to step  6. If battery voltage is not indicated, go to next step.
  5. Repair open in Blue/Black wire between power window relay and passenger's front power window and lock switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repairs, repeat step  4.
  6. Momentarily connect a fused jumper between battery voltage and passenger's power window and lock switch connector terminal No. 1 (Brown/Yellow wire). Connect another jumper wire between ground and passenger's power window and lock switch connector terminal No. 10 (Blue/Yellow wire). Reverse connections. If power window motor operates in both directions, replace power window and lock switch. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If power window motor does not operate in both directions, go to next step.
  7. Disconnect passenger's power window motor connector. Momentarily connect a fused jumper between battery voltage and passenger's power window motor Blue wire connector. Connect another jumper wire between ground and passenger's power window motor White wire connector. Reverse connections. If power window motor operates in both directions, go to next step. If power window motor does not operate in both directions, replace power window motor. See POWER WINDOW MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  8. Repair open in Blue/Yellow wire or Brown/Yellow wire between passenger's power window and lock switch and power window motor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repairs, recheck system operation.
