DTC 16: Class-2 Communication Line Abnormality

  1. Turn ignition OFF. Disconnect EHCU and PCM harness connectors. Check for continuity between ground and EHCU harness connector terminal No. 25 (Orange/Green wire). If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair EHCU harness or connector as necessary. After repairs, go to step  3 .
  2. Reconnect EHCU and PCM harness connectors. Clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTICS. Turn ignition ON. Check for DTCs. If DTC 16 is set, check for damaged PCM harness or connector. Repair as necessary. If DTC 16 is not set, replace EHCU. After repairs, go to next step.
  3. Reconnect all components. Ensure all components are properly installed. Clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. Verify system operation. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
