Electronic Hydraulic Control Unit: Notes

Electronic Hydraulic Control Unit (EHCU) includes ABS control circuits, fault detector and a fail safe system. EHCU controls hydraulic unit according to signals received from "G" sensor/accelerometer, brakelight switch and each wheel speed sensor. EHCU determines if a wheel is beginning to lock. If a locking condition is detected, EHCU sends a signal to hydraulic unit, adjusting brake pressure to provide for maximum braking without wheel lock.

EHCU is mounted on right front side of engine compartment and consist of motor, plunger pump, solenoid valves and check valve. A relay box containing motor relay and valve relay is mounted on outside of EHCU. EHCU component functions are as follows:
