Miscellaneous Tests: Notes

Miscellaneous tests are a series of tests designed to verify operation of 8 different engine performance related outputs. Outputs tested are lights, relays, EVAP system, fuel system, instruments, EGR control, variable intake manifold solenoid and fuel injector balance.

Testing is carried out with TECH 2 scan tool, or equivalent. Scan tool sends operating signals to confirm output operation, confirming normal operation. Testing is useful to detect intermittent problems. Use scan tool to:

1. Confirm DTC freeze frame data, and match freeze frame data as test conditions with data list displayed by miscellaneous test.
2. Confirm DTC setting conditions, and match setting conditions as test conditions with data list displayed by miscellaneous test.
3. Refer to latest Service Bulletins. Verify that latest software release is available.
