Fuel System Pressure Release (Ascender 5.3L)

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Install Fuel Pressure Gauge (J 34730-1A).
  3. Loosen the fuel fill cap in order to relieve the fuel tank vapor pressure.
  4. Open the valve on Fuel Pressure Gauge (J 34730-1A) in order to bleed the system pressure. The fuel connections are now safe for servicing.
  5. Drain any fuel remaining in the gauge into an approved container.
  6. Once the system pressure is completely relieved, remove the Fuel Pressure Gauge (J 34730-1A).
