Diagnostic Tests: Notes
CAUTION:
When battery or PCM is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until adaptation systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES - ISUZU
article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
NOTE:
While limited diagnostic information is available, vehicle manufacturer does not support diagnostic information using aftermarket scan tools. To properly diagnose vehicle, it is recommended to use TECH 2 scan tool.
NOTE:
If Powertrain Control Module (PCM) requires replacement, PCM must be reprogrammed using TECH 2 or equivalent OBD-II compatible scan tool and special manufacturer equipment.
NOTE:
Before replacing any component that scan tool suggests are faulty, ensure that all wiring connections and harness connectors are okay. Ensure that power and ground circuits are functioning properly. For circuit identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .
NOTE:
To identify PCM terminals referenced in testing, see PIN VOLTAGE CHARTS
article. To identify circuits and wire colors referenced in testing, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .
NOTE:
To identify engine performance component connectors, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION .
