NOTE: Before performing testing procedures, check for any related Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs).

NOTE: The CHECK ENGINE light is also referred to as Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL). The MIL is displayed in instrument cluster as CHECK ENGINE.

If no faults were found while performing BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES, proceed to SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM . If no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are present after entering self-diagnostics, proceed to TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article for diagnosis by symptom.
