Diagnostic Procedure
NOTE:
DTC P1625 is used to record a PCM reset history. If DTC P1625 is not reset and no engine abnormality is found after DTC is cleared, no further testing is required.
- Perform ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC II SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. After performing OBD-II system check, go to next step.
- Start engine and allow it to idle. Using scan tool, select DTC INFO for DTC P1625. If scan tool indicates that DTC P1625 has failed, go to next step. If scan tool does not indicate that DTC P1625 has failed, clear DTCs.
- Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTC P1625. Start engine and allow it to idle. On scan tool, select DTC INFO for DTC P1625. If scan tool indicates that DTC P1625 has failed, go to next step. If scan tool does not indicate that DTC P1625 has failed, clear DTCs.
- Inspect vehicle for installation of any aftermarket components, such as transceiver stereos or alarm systems. If they are incorrectly installed, PCM may be influenced by emitted EMI (electromagnetic interference). If problem is found, reposition components away from PCM. After repairs are complete, see VERIFYING VEHICLE REPAIR under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
