Ecu Vacuum Sensor

Some models may be equipped with a vacuum reservoir located next to the ECU. This unit is connected into the vacuum sensor line and is used to prevent momentary fluctuations in vacuum from reaching the sensor.

Vehicles exhibiting a low speed engine surging condition with a slight delay in throttle response should be checked for proper routing of the vacuum hose that leads to the ECU vacuum sensor.

On some early models the routing of the hose is such that the hose can become trapped between the negative battery cable and the battery case causing a restriction. Reroute hose to correct problem.
