Right Front Speed Sensor

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between terminals No. 7 (White wire) and No. 25 (Green wire) of ABS ECU connector. If resistance is 800-1400 ohms, go to step 3). If resistance is not 800-1400 ohms, disconnect speed sensor connector. Check speed sensor connector condition and clean or repair as necessary.
  2. If connector is okay, measure resistance between speed sensor terminals. If resistance is not 800-1400 ohms, replace speed sensor. If resistance is 800-1400 ohms, check wiring harness between ABS ECU and speed sensor connector. Repair wiring as necessary.
  3. Lift and support vehicle so right front wheel is off ground. Ensure ignition is off. Put DVOM in AC scale. Measure AC voltage between terminals No. 7 and 25 of ABS ECU connector. Rotate right front wheel at one revolution per second. If voltage is .04-.1 volt, go to next step. If voltage is not .04-.1 volt, check speed sensor installation, toothed wheel for warping and cracks, and hub carrier for damage. Repair or replace as necessary.
  4. Ensure ignition is off. Using DVOM, check for continuity between terminals No. 1 and 7 of ABS ECU connector. If continuity does not exist, circuit is okay. If continuity exists, check speed sensor for a short to ground. Repair or replace as necessary. If speed sensor is okay, check wiring harness between ABS ECU and speed sensor for a short to ground. Repair as necessary.
