XJ8 & XJR (With Remote Transmitter)

NOTE: Memory positions of driver's seat, steering column and/or outside mirrors can be changed without reprogramming remote transmitter. When making adjustments to driver's preferences, reset to same memory channel.

Insert key into ignition switch. Adjust driver's seat, steering column and outside rearview mirrors to preferred positions. Push MEMORY button located next to window control panel on driver's door.

NOTE: Driver's preference will only be memorized if key is in ignition switch and MEMORY button LED is illuminated. Any preferences previously set in memory will be erased when a new preference is entered.

When MEMORY button is pressed the LED next to MEMORY button will illuminate for 4 seconds. To store first driver's preferences, push "1", "2" or "3" button. When button is pressed, LED will go out and a chime will sound indicating that setting procedure is completed.
To set a second and third memory position, adjust seat, steering column and outside rearview mirrors to second or third preferred position. Push MEMORY button and press unused button within 4 seconds after LED illuminates.
LED will go out and a chime will sound indicating that the driver's preferences have been set. Within 5 seconds, press any button on remote transmitter. LED next to MEMORY button will flash and a chime will sound confirming that transmitter is programed.
When remote transmitter UNLOCK button is pressed, driver's preferred seat, steering column and mirror positions will be set. Previously set driver's preferences will be erased and new preferences will be set if setting procedure is repeated.
To cancel remote transmitter memory setting, insert key into ignition switch. Press MEMORY button next to window control panel on driver's door. Press any button on remote transmitter 2 times before LED next to MEMORY button goes out. The LED will go out and 2 chimes will sound confirming cancellation of the remote transmitter programming.
