XJ8 & XJR (Without Remote Transmitter)

NOTE: Positions of driver's seat, steering column and outside rearview mirrors can be saved and recalled. Driving preferences can be saved for 3 different drivers. Driving preferences can only be stored into memory when ignition key is in ignition switch.

NOTE: Recalling memorized preferences can only be made if driver's door is open or has been closed within 30 seconds, key is in ignition switch and gear selector is in Park or Neutral position.

Insert key into ignition switch. Adjust driver's seat, steering column and outside rearview mirrors to preferred positions. Push MEMORY button located next to window control panel on driver's door.
When MEMORY button is pressed, the LED next to MEMORY button will illuminate for 4 seconds. To store first driver's preferences, push "1", "2" or "3" button. When button is pressed, LED will go out and a chime will sound indicating that setting procedure is completed.
To set a second and third memory position, adjust seat, steering column and outside rearview mirrors to second or third preferred position. Push MEMORY button and press unused button within 4 seconds after LED illuminates.
LED will go out and a chime will sound indicating that the preferences have been set. Previously set driver's preferences will be erased and new preferences will be set if setting procedure is repeated.
