Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module: Installation

  1. Install the ABS/TCCM to the HCU.
    • Install and tighten bolts. (1)
    • Connect electrical connector. (2)

  2. Install HCU.
    • Taking care not to distort brake tubes position HCU into bracket.
    • Install bolts and tighten to 8-10 Nm.

  3. NOTE: To minimize brake fluid loss, install the brake tubes to the HCU in the order shown.
  4. Install brake tubes to HCU.
    • Remove plugs from outlet HCU ports and brake tubes. (1)
    • Install and tighten outlet brake-tube union nuts. Refer to BRAKE TUBE, HOSES AND BRACKET TORQUES  for torque setting. (2)
    • Remove plugs from inlet HCU ports and brake tubes. (1)
    • Install and tighten inlet brake-tube union nuts. BRAKE TUBE, HOSES AND BRACKET TORQUES  for torque setting. (2)

  5. Remove cloth from underneath HCU.
  6. Connect electrical connectors to the ABS/TCCM.
    • Connect electrical connector. (1)
    • Connect electrical connector. (2)
    • Push plunger downwards. (3)

  7. Remove special tool from brake pedal.
  8. Reconnect battery ground cable (IMPORTANT, see DISCONNECTING/CONNECTING THE BATTERY for further information).
  9. Bleed brake system. Refer to BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
