Drive Cycles

NOTE: The following drive cycles will enable the monitors to run, but only after fuelling adaptations are complete. During the drive cycle, drive gently, avoiding hard acceleration, braking or cornering and rough roads.
  1. Entry conditions:

    1. Catalyst Monitor

Engine speed is 1100-1600 RPM, vehicle speed is 31-45 MPH and MAF is 5-30 grams/second. All conditions for 23 seconds.
    2. HO2S

Engine speed is 600-2500 RPM, vehicle speed is 18-70 MPH and MAF is 4-16 grams/second. Fuel cut for more than 10 seconds, but less than 30 seconds.
    3. Catalyst Monitor Sensor

      MAF is 10-90 grams/second for 140 seconds.
    4. Fuel System

      Greater than 6 grams/second for 33 seconds.
    5. Air Assist Close Valve

Vehicle speed is 38-75 MPH and MAF is 4-16 grams/second. Fuel is cut for 2 seconds.
    6. P/N Switch

Engine speed is 1800-2200 RPM and vehicle speed is 50-63 MPH for 31 seconds.
    7. Evaporative Emissions

Vehicle speed is 30-55 MPH and at idle. For MAF readings and time frames, see DRIVE CYCLE LEAK TEST .
  2. Drive at 52-60 MPH for 40 seconds. Accelerate to 70 MPH. Close the throttle (ideally at the start of a decel) continue with closed throttle for 10 seconds (fuel cut). Drive at 35-40 MPH, holding the throttle as steady as possible, on a flat level road for a minimum of 30 seconds.
