No-Load Test

  1. Connect the DVOM leads across the battery terminals.
  2. Read the voltage (base voltage) if battery voltage is less than 12.5 volts, recharge battery before test.
  3. Start the engine.
  4. Run the engine to 1500 RPM with no electrical load.
  5. Read the voltage. If the voltage increase is less than 0.5 volts over the base voltage, perform the BATTERY LOAD TEST  .
