Selector Lever Cable Adjustment

  1. Remove the floor console. See FLOOR CONSOLE .
  2. Move the transmission selector lever to the "R" position.
  3. Detach the wiring harness bracket.
    1. Reposition the wiring harness.
    2. Detach the wiring harness bracket.

  4. Loosen the selector lever cable retaining nuts.

  5. Detach the selector lever cable.

  6. NOTE: Fully extend the selector cable, then retract the selector cable one detent.
  7. Make sure the selector lever cable is in the "R" position.
  8. Make sure the transmission selector lever is in the "R" position.
  9. Connect the selector lever cable. See Fig 3.
  10. Adjust the selector lever cable retaining nuts to lock against the retaining bracket without moving the set position of either the shift lever or the selector lever cable. See Fig 2.
  11. NOTE: Make sure all transmission selector lever positions select the relevant automatic transmission states.
  12. Move the transmission selector lever to all positions.
  13. NOTE: When tightening the selector lever cable retaining nuts, make sure both retaining nuts are tightened to the specified torque simultaneously.
  14. Tighten the selector lever cable retaining nuts. See Fig 2.
    • Tighten to 20 Nm.
  15. Attach the wiring harness bracket.

  16. Install the floor console. See FLOOR CONSOLE .
