ISSUE

Symptom Driven Diagnostics (SDD) is displaying various messages suggesting that the software is out of date.

A software update Icon in the top right corner of the page, (when trying to update the software you receive a "No update available" message).
A message is displayed stating that SDD will have reduced functionality if not updated.

NOTE: Recommendations tab after DTC read will be missing if reduced functionality implementation has occurred.

The above concerns can be displayed when SDD is used in its normal operation with 10MY onwards vehicles or when SDD switches to its Legacy SDD operation for pre 10MY vehicles.

This communication has replaced any previous communication regarding SDD Software Update Icon and No Software Update Available.

CAUSE

SDD software has not been released to market in the scheduled time, as no SDD software content has been required.

There were enhancements released within SDD 159.07 to change the mechanism and timing due to the current situation and no SDD releases.

Further investigation has found multiple timing and functionality setting concerns linked to the download icon, reduced functionality message for both Pre and Post 10MY SDD systems.

PERMANENT CORRECTIVE ACTION

This manual patch has been expired as SDD 160 has been released that corrects this concern.
