Cold Start System
The cold start system consists of a capsule (spring housing), linkage, thermostat and a bi-metallic spring. When engine is cold, thermostat inside capsule releases bi-metallic spring. The spring pulls timing control lever toward "ADVANCE" position, and throttle lever is pulled toward fast idle.
As engine temperature increases, thermostat slowly expands, compressing spring. When spring is compressed, control cable is released, and throttle lever returns to original position.
